Idols SA: ‘My Yoki Yoki’ singer Vhudi booted out of the competition: Many viewers of the show believe that the show’s judges had to let him go because he has already signed a music contract with one of the record labels in Mzansi
Musician Vhudi has been booted out of Idols SA. The 20-year-old man stole many people’s hearts when he performed his original song My Yoki Yoki on the singing competition.
When he auditioned in Johannesburg a few weeks ago, the show’s judges Somizi Mhlongo, Randall Abrahams, Unathi Nkanyi and guest judge Buhle Mda sang along to the musician’s song.
The Limpopo-born star also became an instant hit on Mzansi’s Twitter. Many people were impressed by his song. Vhudi has now been booted out of the show and many South Africans believe that one of the reasons he was given the boot is because he has already signed a record deal. Check out some of the comments from the viewers of the show:
“Mr Yoki Yoki is going home, Vhudi was the people’s champ.”
“Then when he makes it on his own, they will say it was the Idols platform that made him. I must say I am happy for him because from what I have read the Idols competition can build you up then drop you when the season is over. He is gifted and he will make it on his own.”
“Which is great, the Idols contracts were going to limit and hold him back.”
“Idols or no Idols, Vhudie is going far. How funny it is to have judges who can’t sing.”
“Probably has a record deal already.”
“I think it’s because he’s been wanted by many labels, that’s why they let him go.”
t Vhudi has explained the meaning of his song My Yoki Yoki. The rising star revealed that he was trying to impress a girl when he wrote the number. Instead of impressing the girl, Vhudi impressed thousands of the show’s viewers. Even though many did not even understand the lyrics of the track, his talent was enough to impress.
